Senator Jawahir Ahmed Elmi has passed away

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Former senator and humanitarian activist Jawahir Ahmed Elmi who had been taken ill for the last couple of days has  passed away in India, on Thursday, her family has confirmed.

Jawahir was a member of the former Upper House of the Somali Parliament and also an outgoing Senator from the Galmudug administration.

She will best be remembered for her efforts in rebuilding the Galmudug administration and for her role as a humanitarian and peace activist.
