Senatorial elections kick off in Jubbaland state

Voting for Senators in Jubbaland state has started off with Hassan Farah Hujalle emerging winner in the first seat contest. His opponent Abdi Mohamed Farah came second with 23 votes.

The state assembly has 67 lawmakers who are participating in the polls.

Voting is on going in the state assembly. 

The elections are the second in the national senate polls which started last with the election of eight senators from Galmudug state.
