Three soldiers have been wounded after Somali forces had been attacked with hand grenade in Baledweyne town of central Somalia, officials said on Sunday.
The explosion also injured four other civilians who are currently recuperating in hospital, according to Ali Dhuh Abdi, baledweyne police commissioner.
“The explosion was very heavy and we suspect it was carried out by Al-Shabaab,” said Abdi.
A-Shabaab, which has carried out similar attacks in the past, has claimed the responsibility through its Andulus Radio.
The group usually targets key government and security figures in the country, trying to overthrow the international-backed government.
