‘Several’ Al-Shabaab Fighters Reported Killed in Galgaduud Operation

GOOBJOOG NEWS|GALAGADUD: Somali National Army (SNA) forces, backed by Maawisley clan militia, launched a night raid against Al-Shabaab hideouts in the forested areas between Ali-Heelle and Iid-Kuus in Galgaduud region.
Military officials who oversaw the operation confirmed that an unspecified number of militants were killed, describing the casualties as “dozens.” The forces also destroyed newly established Al-Shabaab bases in the area.
The SNA’s 77th Battalion, working in close coordination with local community fighters, overran all militant positions in the two villages, inflicting what officials termed as heavy losses on the group.
Authorities said the operation was part of continued efforts to weaken Al-Shabaab’s presence in central Somalia.
