Several Al-Shabaab Militants Killed in Airstrike in Lower Shabelle

GOOBJOOG NEWS | LOWER SHABELLE: The Somali National Army together with its international partners Sunday conducted an operation in Lower Shabelle region, killing several Al-Shabaab militants.

According to an official government statement, the operation targeted Bula Warbo area under the Kuntuwaarey district of the Lower Shabelle region, where the militants had gathered.

“In a joint airstrike operation by the National Army and our international allies, several Khawarij militants were neutralized. The enemy suffered significant losses,” the government statement reads.

This airstrike followed another conducted by Somali army forces, with support from international partners, which killed at least seven al-Shabab militants, and several others injured on Saturday, in the Kuntawarey district of the Lower Shabelle region.
