Several Al-Shabaab Militants Killed in an Operation in Lower Jubba
GOOBJOOG NEWS | LOWER JUBBA: Several Al-Shabaab militants have been killed in an ongoing joint operation by the Somali National Army backed by the Jubbaland administration forces in the Lower Jubba region.
According to a statement by the Federal Government of Somalia, the joint forces killed 35 militants in a joint operation in Musa Haji, Malaylay, Turdho, Bahar Saaf and other areas that were hideouts of the Al-Shabaab
“The army entered the enemy’s hiding outs in those areas and killed 35 Al-Shabaab militants including their ring leaders comprising of Somalis and foreigners,” said the statement issued by the Federal Government of Somalia.
The statement adds that some of the ring leaders who were killed in the joint operations were identified as Saadiq who is the head of Al-Shabaab intelligence, the leader of the explosions in charge of the group who was identified as Abdiqani, and another leader whose position was not announced, whose name was Jabir who was a Kenyan by birth.
The Somali National Army backed by the Jubbaland administration forces have been carrying out tough operations in the Lower Jubba region for the last few days in order to liberate the areas from Alshabab fighters.
