Six High Court judges axed, replacements unveiled
President Mohamed Farmaajo has relieved six high court judges of their jobs and announced new replacements save for one.
In a statement Thursday from the Presidency, President Farmaajo said the new changes in the Judiciary were in line with recommendations from Chief Justice Baashe Ahmed who came to office in May.
The judges dismissed are: Sheikh Mohamud Mohamed, Mohamud Ahmed Farah, Sheik Omar Adan Mohamed, Abdinasir Seerar Ahmed and Ahmed Mohamed Sheikh Ibrahim.
The following are the incoming judges of the high court: Mohamed Omar Ahmed, Abdalla Mahalin Mohamed, Haydar Barqash Abukor and Ahmed Ali Muuse.
The Presidency noted the changes were part of ongoing judicial reforms in the country.
In the absence of the Judicial Service Commission which is yet to be formed, the judicial appointments and dismissals fall within the ambit of the president.
