Six thousands children get measles immunization in Gedo region

Reports from Elwaq indicate that immunization against measles is carried out in Elwak district its surrounding areas.
Doctors and medical officers in Elwak district of Gedo region stated that more than six thousand children between 1 and 15 years have been vaccinated against measles in Elwak district it is soundings.
Mohamed Ahmed, one of the doctors in Elwak district, told Goobjoog FM that children in Elwaq and its surrounding areas were among those who benefited from the vaccination programs.
He stated that the inoculation are preventive measures against measles and that they have seen suspected cases of measles in villages around Elwaq.
HDC an NGO operating in Elwaq, carried out the immunization drive in cooperation with UNICEF. More than 72 volunteers from various districts in the region participated.
