AMISOM Claims Victory Over Clashes With Al-shabab

AMISOM troops have launched Security operations to weed out Al-Shabab fighters which prompted hours of fighting between Al-Shabab fighters and the troops, AMISOM military officials say.
The commander of the third battalion of Djibouti contingent, Areyte Humad Mohamed said that AMISOM soldiers have yesterday attacked Al-Shabab ruminants who had blocked the ways connecting Baledweyn and Bullo-Burde towns.
“We staged attack on base of Al-Shabab fighters and drove them away the area. We are always ready restoring peace and security this region. We will make to follow them wherever Al-Shabab goes” he said.
One of the residents in the areas near the base said that AMISOM soldiers have yesterday attacked Al-Shabab where the sides combated.

“The fighting embarked after AMISOM soldiers attacked the area though they did not meet with so much antagonistic resistance from Al-Shabab in the base and the fighters of Al-Shabab fighters vacated the area”

On the other hand Al-Shabab has not yet commented on the clashes and it causalities.
The situation is calm and things returned back to normal after the battle between AMISOM troops and Al-Shabab subsided.
