SNA Commander Meets East Africa Security Association Officials to Discuss Regional Security
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali National Army commander Ibrahim Sheikh Muhuddin Monday met East Africa Security Association (EASA) director Paul Kahuria Njema to deliberate in ways of enhancing counter terrorism efforts.
The two also discussed critical issues affecting the region, particularly security threats posed by extremist groups – underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing security challenges that transcend national borders.
They also discussed the support needed to build and equip the Somali National Army, where director Njema expressed EASA’s commitment to providing technical assistance and resources to enhance the operational effectiveness of Somali forces.
This support is crucial for Somalia’s ongoing efforts to stabilize the country and ensure long-term peace through training programs, joint exercises, and the development of regional security frameworks.
By working closely with EASA, Somalia aims to enhance its military capabilities and contribute to the stability of the East African region.
