SNA Forces Discover 10 Bodies of Al-Shabaab Militants in Eldher District

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somali National Army has said it discovered 10 bodies of Al-Shabaab militants believed to be part of the fighters who mounted a botched attack at a military base early Saturday at Eldheer district in Galmudug state.

According to an official government statement, the total number of militants killed during the operation is now at 60 as search continues for remnants of the fighters who took part in the attack.

The statement added that the national forces also captured several militants during the battle and that the forces have initiated the process of burying the bodies of the killed fighters.

It further stated that the federal government is committed to continue its war on Al-shabaab in a bid to liberate all parts of the country and restore peace and stability to the people of Somalia.

“We are calling upon all Somali youth to desist from involving themselves in activities related to the Al-Shabaab and to those already in the group to surrender to government forces before they are killed or arrested,” concludes the official government statement.
