SNA Forces Intensify Operation against Al-Shabaab in Mudug Region
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MUDUG: The Somali National Army (SNA) backed by local forces have intensified their operations against the Al-Shabab militants in Mudug region, in response to recent increase in attacks linked to the militant group in the area.
Military officials said they are targeting areas identified as Al-Shabaab strongholds in the region with the aim of liberating the areas and preventing attacks against civilians.
The Federal Government has deployed Special Forces to the area which has seen several militants, both Somali nationals and foreigners killed in targeted ground and airstrikes operations.
This renewed offensive signifies a coordinated and proactive approach by Somali security forces and their allies to dismantle AS networks and enhance security in the region.
The ongoing operations, authorities say, reflect the determination of the Federal Government of Somalia and its partners to root out terrorism and restore peace and stability to Mudug Region and beyond.
