SNA Forces Seize Fuel Supplies, Arrests Al-Shabaab Suspects in Galgadud

GOOBJOOG NEWS | DUSMAREB: Somali National Army forces Friday seized several containers containing fuel and other supplies in Galgaduud region believed to have been destined for the Al-shabaab militants.  

The SNA officers who had mounted a roadblock in at Masagawa in Hussein-Agay village also killed one militant and arrested two women who were part of the Al-shabaab smuggling ring.

“SNA forces successfully neutralized an Al-Shabaab member armed with an AK-47 rifle at the Masagaway security checkpoint,” an official government statement reads in part.

The individual was intercepted before he could carry out any potential attacks.

Military sources say the operation is aimed at disrupting the militant group’s supply chain and further weaken their operational capabilities.
