SNA liberates villages at El-Bur in Galgudud from Al-shabaab

GOOBJOOG NEWS | GALGUDUD: The Somali National Army has liberated Da’ Village at El-Bur district in Galgudud region from the Al-shabaab militants.

The operation comes following weeks of intelligence gathering and planning which led to the expulsion of the militants and restoring safety for local residents.

Army officials however added that no casualties were reported on government forces underscoring the efficiency of the national army in the operation to liberate the entire Galmudug region which has been plagued by insecurity caused by the militants for years.

The latest victory by the National Army also comes as the government gears up towards the second phase of the war against the Al-shabaab which is aimed at restoring lasting peace and security within the country’s borders.
