SNA, Local Forces Conduct Security Operations in Mudug Region
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MUDUG: The Somali National Army backed by local forces and Wisil District Police has conducted an operation targeting the Al-Shabaab militants in parts of the Mudug region.
According to military officials stationed in Wisil District who are overseeing the operation two vehicles loaded with fuel and other supplies believed to have been destined for the militant group was impounded.
The officials added that two individuals were also arrested and are being interrogated to determine the destination of the impounded fuel and supplies in the vehicle.
The Somali National Army and local forces have over the past weeks intensified operations against the militant group with the aim of restoring peace and stability and countering security threats in several areas under the Galmudug administration.
The federal government forces have liberated several areas from Al-Shabaab fighters since the start of the total war against Al-Shabaab.
