SNA Recaptures Hawadley from Al-Shabaab in Operation Badr
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somali National Army has recaptured the Hawadley area in the Middle Shabelle region from Al-Shabaab during an ongoing security offensive.
Military officials said the operation, conducted as part of Operation Badr during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, targeted militant hideouts and supply sites used by the group.
According to the Ministry of Defence of Somalia, several militant positions and storage facilities were destroyed during the assault.
Security forces are now working to stabilize and secure the area while continuing pursuit operations against remaining fighters and carrying out clearance activities in nearby locations.
The military officials said operations against Al-Shabaab will intensify in order to protect civilians and dismantle remaining militant bases.
