At least two killed, three injured after explosion goes off in Afgoye

GOOBJOOG NEWS|AFGOYE: An explosion that took off some few minutes after 11am in Afgoye District in the Lower Shabelle Region of South West Somalia has resulted in deaths and injuries.

Witnesses who spoke to the media said the explosion, a landmine, went off at the vegetable market in Afgoye, specifically at a tax collection point. 

A soldier who was at the tax collection point is said to be among those killed in the blast, while three other people sustained injuries.

Al-Shabaab, through one of its affiliate websites, has claimed responsibility for the landmine attack.
