GOOBJOOG NEWS | JINHUA, China: Somalia’s Ambassador to China, Dr. Hodan Osman Abdi, has called for closer legal and institutional cooperation between Somalia and China to strengthen mutual confidence and guide future investment opportunities.

Speaking at the 2025 Forum on China–Africa Legal Communication and Cooperation in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, Dr. Hodan emphasized that the rule of law is the foundation of stability, fairness, and long-term growth.

“It should guide how we shape future cooperation, ensuring that our partnership rests on fairness, clarity, and shared trust,” she said.

The ambassador noted that trade between Jinhua and Somalia has grown by more than 16% over the past year, reflecting the vitality of local-level collaboration within the broader China–Somalia partnership.

She also underscored the importance of nurturing young Somali talent and expanding academic and legal exchanges to sustain bilateral progress.

Dr. Hodan reaffirmed Somalia’s readiness to deepen engagement under the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and the Global Development Initiative, saying the two countries share a common vision of justice, prosperity, and sustainable development.

The forum, now in its second edition, serves as a key platform for strengthening dialogue on law, governance, and institutional cooperation between China and African nations.
