Somali Army, Local Forces Clear Al-Shabaab Hideouts in Bay Region

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somalia National Army, backed by local forces, has cleared several villages in the Daynuunaay area of Bay region from Al-Shabaab militants.
The joint operation dismantled positions held by the Islamist group and secured the area to prevent further militant activity.
The campaign is part of a broader offensive by the federal government aimed at weakening al Shabaab’s operational capacity and restoring security in conflict-hit regions.
Somali forces have stepped up military operations in recent months, forcing the out group from key hideouts, though the insurgents continue to stage attacks in parts of the country.
