Somali Army Spokesman Rallies Troops in Mahadaay Amid Anti-Extremist Push

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MAHADAAY: The Somali National Army (SNA) Spokesperson, Sheikh Abukar Ma’alin on Friday met with troops in Mahadaay district of Middle Shabelle, urging them to sustain momentum in operations against extremist groups.

According to the defense ministry, the visit, aimed at boosting troop morale, came as government forces continue efforts to secure recently liberated areas in the region. Ma’alin praised the soldiers’ dedication and called on them to maintain discipline and determination in their mission.

He also appealed to residents of Mahadaay and surrounding areas to cooperate with the army, saying community support was crucial for eliminating remaining militant hideouts and restoring lasting stability.

The visit follows intensified nationwide operations by Somali forces targeting A-Shabaab militants as the government seeks to extend control and strengthen security across the country.
