GOOBJOOG NEWS|LOWER SHABELLE: The Somali National Army has seized a large water storage site previously used by Al-Shabaab militants following the recapture of Jilib Marko area in the Lower Shabelle region.

Sources told Goobjoog News that SNA forces discovered multiple underground pits packed with hundreds of plastic containers filled with water. The stockpiles are believed to have been reserved for senior militant leaders and fighters operating in and around Jilib Marko.

The seizure followed a coordinated military operation that pushed Al-Shabaab out of the area in recent days. Security officials say the offensive is ongoing, with troops advancing in several other locations across Lower Shabelle as pressure mounts on the group.

The Somali government has reiterated its determination to intensify military operations against Al-Shabaab, saying the campaign is part of broader efforts to restore security and stability across the country.
