Somali Deputy Minister, Minneapolis Mayor Agree on Stronger Diaspora Cooperation

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MINNEAPOLIS: Somalia’s Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Abdirahman Yusuf Al-Adala, met Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey to strengthen ties with the city’s Somali community, the largest in the United States.
The two sides agreed to expand cooperation in culture, tourism and community development, with a focus on creating more opportunities for Somalis in education, jobs and public services.
Mayor Frey praised the diaspora’s contribution to the city’s growth, while Al-Adala said closer collaboration would not only benefit Somali-Americans but also help promote Somalia’s culture and tourism internationally.
The meeting also produced a plan to increase joint efforts in media engagement and public awareness, seen as a step toward a more structured partnership between Somalia’s government and its diaspora communities abroad.
