Somali Forces Arrest Two Al-Shabaab Suspects in Afgoye Operation

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali National Army (SNA) troops have arrested two suspected Al-Shabaab militants during a security operation in Afgoye district, Lower Shabelle region.
Army officials said the suspects were planning attacks in the capital Mogadishu before being intercepted.
The operation was part of joint efforts by the SNA and African Union forces to disrupt militant movements and strengthen security in Awdhegle, Afgoye, and surrounding areas.
Al Shabaab, which has been waging an insurgency against Somalia’s central government since 2007, frequently carries out bombings and raids targeting security forces and civilians.
