Somali Forces Conduct Operations against Al Shabaab in Lower Shabele Region

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MARKA: The Somali National Armed forces have conducted military operations targeting the Al-Shabaab militant bases in Lower Shabele Region, South West Region.

Sources say the government forces specifically targeted areas between Marka City and No. 50, with the troops also conducting mine detection and disposal operations along major roads in the area.

Recent operations by the Somali National Army backed by international forces and local forces have intensified operations in the region which has seen several areas previously controlled by the militants liberated.

The Somali community in the region has also supported the Somali forces efforts to eliminate the Al-Shabaab so as to restore peace and stability for the residents.
