Somali Forces Defuse Militant-Planted Landmine in Janaale

GOOBJOOG NEWS | JANAALE: The Somali National Army have intercepted and dismantled a landmine planted by militants in the town of Janaale, Lower Shabelle region.
Brigadier General Cabdiraxiin Maxamed Munye, commander of the 14th October Battalion, said intelligence tips led soldiers to the device before it could harm residents.
The targeted area is a popular gathering point for the local community.
Military officials said the operation was part of wider efforts to curb militant attacks on civilians and restore stability in southern Somalia.
