Somali forces kill 120 Al-Shabaab militants in 48 hours- Gov’t

GOOBJOOG NEWS|GALAGADUD: Over 100 Al-Shabaab militants were killed in the last 48 hours, the Somali government has said as military operations in central regions intensified.

Information Deputy Minister Abdirahman Yusuf Al Adala told the media from the frontlines in Galmudug that 120 militants were killed in 17 separate operations in the last two days.

The minister noted that local communities and business people were providing support to the military in areas they are operating from.

The minister’s remarks follow the capture of Garas area in Galgadud region on Monday by Somali National Army.
