Somali forces kill Al-Shabaab tax collector in Hiiraan

The Somali military forces have begun operations in Hees area in Hiraan region, where they killed senior Al shabaab officer who was the head of the tax collectors of Al shabab in parts of Hiraan province.

Somali forces Sunday killed an Al-Shabaab operative in charge of tax collection in Hiiraan region, the military said.

Somali military officers confirmed to the media that they killed in an attack the head of Al shabab tax collector Ali Ahmed Guure in Hee area between Baledweyne and Mahaas districts.

Meanwhile Somali and Amisom forces have also taken charge of Hees which is 35km from Baledwyne town.

The joint forces conducted an operation Saturday led by Baleweyne district commissioner Ali Jeyte clearing road blocks that had hindered transport in the area
