Somali Forces Kill Nine Al-Shabaab Militants in Lower Shabelle Operation

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somali National Armed Forces, working alongside local community fighters, killed nine Al-Shabaab militants during a security operation in Lower Shabelle.

The operation was carried out in the village of Busley Daud, where troops targeted militants accused of threatening local residents and destabilizing the area.

According to military officials, the militants neutralized in the operation had been involved in activities that caused insecurity for the surrounding communities.

The officials said the joint effort between national forces and local fighters forms part of the government’s broader campaign to dismantle militant networks and restore stability in regions affected by insurgent activity.

The Somali National Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to protecting civilians and continuing operations to liberate remaining areas where the militant group is believed to be hiding.
