Somali Forces Kill Senior Al-Shabaab Commander in Hiiraan Operation

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali National Army (SNA) troops and allied local forces have killed Ali Ahmed Qoyane, a senior Al-Shabaab commander, during a planned security operation in the Mubah area near Moqokori district in the central Hiiraan region.

According to military officials, the operation was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle Al-Shabaab’s network in central Somalia, where government forces, backed by community militias, have intensified offensives against the Islamist group in recent months.

The officials further stated that the targeted raid aimed to disrupt militant activities in the area and prevent further attacks against civilians and security forces.
