Somali Forces, Partners Kill Four Al Shabaab Fighters in Galguduud Raid

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali National Armed Forces, working with international partners, killed at least four Al-Shabaab fighters in a planned operation in Nooleye village, Galguduud region.

In a statement, the defence ministry said that the raid was part of ongoing offensives to dismantle Al-Shabaab’s network and restore stability in central Somalia. It further stated that the operation demonstrated growing coordination between Somali troops and their allies, who have steadily increased pressure on the militants.

The government has pledged to intensify military campaigns to eradicate al Shabaab and Islamic State-linked cells, which have long undermined Somalia’s security. Recent gains in Galguduud and neighbouring regions are being hailed by authorities as evidence that the insurgents’ grip is weakening.

Security analysts say says improved training, equipment, and international backing are giving Somali forces the upper hand in the fight against terrorism, a campaign officials describe as critical for securing peace and economic recovery across the Horn of Africa.
