Somali Forces Target Al-Shabaab Hideouts in Lower Juba Offensive

GOOBJOOG NEWS | QABRI SHARIF: Somali National Army (SNA) and Jubbaland regional forces delivered a crushing blow to Al-Shabaab militants on Thursday, launching a high-impact assault on the group’s hideouts in Qabri Sharif, Lower Juba.
The coordinated operation resulted in heavy militant casualties and the destruction of key insurgent bases.
Military officials described the offensive as a strategic strike aimed at crippling al-Shabaab’s operations and preventing imminent attacks.
“Our forces executed a precise raid, eliminating numerous terrorists and dismantling their strongholds before they could launch further assaults,” a senior officer confirmed.
The latest operation is part of a broader campaign to eradicate Al-Shabaab from southern Somalia, where government troops and allied forces have ramped up pressure on the extremist group.
In recent weeks, sustained military offensives have severely weakened the militants, forcing them into retreat.
While exact casualty figures have not been released, officials assert that the militants suffered heavy losses, further diminishing their operational capabilities.
Security forces vow to continue their advance, targeting the remaining Al-Shabaab-held territories to ensure the full liberation of the region.
