Somali Government Bans Weapons at Aden Adde International Airport

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia has officially banned weapons at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu as part of broader efforts to enhance security and regulate the movement of arms into the capital.
According to Information Minister Da’uud Aweys Jama, the decision reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening security measures at the airport, which serves as a key gateway for domestic and international travelers.
“The cabinet has made a decisive decision to prohibit weapons at Aden Adde International Airport. This step is crucial to controlling the movement of arms and ensuring the safety of the public and travelers using the airport,” Minister Jama stated.
He further emphasized that the ban is a vital security measure designed to safeguard passengers, airport personnel, and other stakeholders from potential threats associated with unchecked weapon access.
