Somali Gov’t Condemns Drone Strikes on Saudi Arabia
GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia has condemned drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s Al-Buqtooriyah region, describing the strikes as a violation of the sovereignty of a friendly nation.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Somalia said it “strongly condemns” the attacks and reaffirmed its solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The government expressed concern over the impact of the attacks on civilians and reiterated its rejection of violence against innocent people. It also reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia’s efforts to safeguard its security, stability, and territorial integrity.
The statement noted that Saudi Arabia plays an important role in promoting stability and supporting maritime navigation in the Red Sea, describing the Kingdom as a key contributor to regional security.
Somalia called for disputes to be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, urging all parties to pursue peaceful solutions and avoid actions that could further escalate tensions.
The government also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with regional partners and the international community in efforts aimed at promoting peace, stability, and security across the region.
