Somali Islamic Clerics Association lauds Goobjoog News on its 3rd anniversary
Somali Islamic Clerics Association yesterday hailed Goobjoog for its contribution to the country through its commitment to professional journalism and corporate responsibility in various facets of the society.
Bashir Ahmed Salad, the chairman of Somali Islamic Clerics Association said Goobjoog had set the standard in the media industry not just as a medium of communication but also as powerful tool which can be harnessed for the development of the country.
Speaking during the third anniversary ceremony of Goobjoog News held at City Palace hotel, Salad said that Goobjoog has been in existence for three years only but has done immense work which could not ideally be accomplished in such a short period of time.
“I congratulate Goobjoog News and its staff and I fully appreciate their works. I bear witness that Goobjoog News has done a lot including in mobilising support for Gurmad and Gargaar programme (Refugee Repatriation Programme),” he said.

The chairman urged Somali media as whole to serve Somali people patriotically and to be cautious about hate reports.
Goobjoog News yesterday celebrated the third year a since the first signal of Goobjoog FM 88.5 hit the airwaves in Mogadishu with a pledge for dedicated service to public service journalism.
For the last three years, Goobjoog News has broadcast several unique and quality programmes which have been billed by hosts of audiences as refreshing and redefining radio in Somalia. These programs include parliamentary news, disabled people empowerment, women affairs and patriotism among other interactive and engaging programmes.
