Somali lawmaker shot dead in Mogadishu

A member of Somalia federal parliament sheikh Adan Madeer  has been shot dead in Mogadishu today after the Friday prayers.

Eye witnesses says gunmen have killed the lawmaker in a drive-by shooting in in Hamarweyne district of Banaadir Province.

The murder of sheikh Adan Madeer  is the latest in a surge of attacks in the capital.

No group has immediately claimed the responsibility for the attack, but Al-Shabab frequently carries out similar attacks against lawmakers, government officials and foreigners.

sheikh Adan Madeer  is the sixth lawmaker killed in attacks this year.
