Somalia Urges Peaceful Solution as Sudan Conflict Deepens

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ali Mohamed Omar, has reaffirmed his government’s support for Sudan’s unity and stability, urging a peaceful and political end to the country’s ongoing conflict.

Speaking during a meeting in Mogadishu with Sudan’s Ambassador, Abdulrahman Khalil Ahmed Abakr Afandi, Minister Omar said Somalia stands in solidarity with the Sudanese people amid the violence and humanitarian crisis affecting parts of the country, including El Fasher.

He emphasized that lasting peace in Sudan can only be achieved through dialogue and political compromise, calling for the protection of civilians and unhindered access to humanitarian aid.

The minister’s remarks reflect Somalia’s broader commitment to regional stability and cooperation among nations in the Horn of Africa.
