Somali MP passes away after short illness in capital
GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Mohamed Mursal Borow, a member of the Lower House of the Federal Government of Somalia, passed away on Friday night after a short illness in Mogadishu, his family revealed to state media.
The Speaker of the House of People, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Noor [Madobe], has issued a statement expressing his condolences to the general public and the deceased lawmaker’s family.
On behalf of myself, the parliament leadership and MPs, I offer my condolences on the tragic death of our brother, the late Mohamed Mursal Borow. “He was a legend of his time who worked the most for his people and our country,” Madobe said in a statement.
Borow, who survived a terror attack on September 15, 2022, hailed from the SouthWest state of Somalia. Until his demise, he served his second stint as MP following reelection in Baydhabo town on Jan. 19, 2022.
