Somali National Army evacuates flood victims in Beledweyne
GOOBJOOG NEWS | BELEDWEYNE: The Somali National Army (SNA) have evacuated hundreds of residents of Baladweyne in Hiran region who were displaced by floods.
The area has experienced flooding following heavy rains that caused River Shabelle to burst its banks creating a humanitarian crisis.
On Wednesday, Hirshabelle region Vice President visited the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) headquarters and held a meeting with the National Disaster Management Authority (SoDMA) chairman Mohamud Macalim Abdulle and the Deputy Chairman of Ahmed Abdi Adan to discuss ways of assisting residents affected by floods in Beledweyne
The leaders promised to address the challenges caused by the floods and provide humanitarian assistance to those who have been displaced warning that the situation may continue and residents should exercise caution.
