GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somali National Army (SNA) achieved a major victory this afternoon following a special operation targeting militant strongholds in Garas Xabad, Mooro-Bus, and Idinta, strategic areas along the road connecting Waajid and Bardaale districts in the Bay region.

The operation specifically targeted key bases used by the extremist group to recruit underage fighters and extort illegal taxes from local residents. SNA forces successfully dismantled these enemy positions, disrupting militant activities aimed at terrorizing the Somali people.

Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Nur (Ahmed Dhagey), commander of the 47th Battalion under the 8th Brigade of the SNA’s 60th Division, confirmed that troops had secured the areas, ensuring the safety of local communities.

This latest offensive comes as President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud continues his tour of the frontlines, where he has been meeting with military commanders and local leaders.

His visit, which included security briefings in Moqokori district, underscores the government’s commitment to directly overseeing operations against Al-Shabaab and boosting troop morale.

The Somali government remains steadfast in its mission to eliminate militant threats and restore stability across the country, with ongoing military efforts ensuring lasting peace and security for its people.
