Somali National Army to Intensify Operations Against Al-Shabaab in Hiran Region
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MAHAAS: Somali National Army commander Gen. Yusuf Odowaa Raage has said the national forces are set to accelerate the fight against the Al-Shabaab militants in Hiran Region.
Gen. Rage made said this at Mahas, where he visited alongside other senior officers to assess the operational readiness of army units stationed in the area.
The army commander who also held consultative talks with officials from the district administration and army officers praised the dedication and bravery of both the army units and the civil defense forces actively engaged in combatting the militant group.
The visit by Gen. Rage is aimed at assessing the soldier’s welfare and receive firsthand information from the troops and the region’s leadership about the ongoing operations.
The general emphasized the importance of intensifying military efforts to eradicate the remaining militant groups in the Hiran Region and urged the army units to double their efforts and continue their relentless pursuit of peace and stability in the region.
“The commitment and sacrifices of our forces are commendable, but we must increase our efforts to eliminate the threat posed by these terrorist groups. We owe it to our country and our people to restore peace and security,” he said.
This renewed focus on military operations highlights the Somali National Army’s resolve to protect the nation and ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens.
