Somali National Security Intelligence Agency “Al-Shabab’s chief for Benadir region killed in Buale district”

The National Security Intelligence Agency (NISA) said that Musa Moalim was killed last night at Buale district in the Middle Juba region.

NISA also stated al-Shabaab leader Ahmed Diriye had ordered the arrest of Al-Shabab head of security operation in the Banadir region, identified as Omar Mohamed.

“At midnight, Muuse Moalim was assassinated in Buale who had earlier resigned as head of the Banadir region security for Al-Shabab and also arrested Mohamed Mohamed Diriye, the chief of Benadir regional security forces, under the command of Superintendent Ahmed Dirie,” a statement posted on NISA’s Twitter account.

Apart from NISA’s statement, there is no independent and reliable source that confirms the killing, yet Al-Shabab has not released any statement about the assassination of Muuse Moalim.
