Somali Parliament endorses constitutional court bill

Somali Federal parliament unanimously passed constitutional court formation bill on Saturday.
Chairing by the speaker of parliament, Mohammed Osman Jawari, the 147 MPs vote for the bill, opposed by 2 and no one abstained.
Members of the parliament immediately proposed that judges of the constitutional court should be appointed on the basis of power sharing formula (4.5)
“ Mr Speaker we want that the judges of this court should be based on the principle of power-sharing and exclusivity,” Said MP Omar Dalha.
The Constitutional Court have sole jurisdiction on matters of interpretation and final authority on the constitutional matters in the country.
