Somali parliament passes political parties Bill

Somali Federal parliament on Monday passed the political parties bill. 145 MPs voted for the bill, 3 opposed and one MP abstained to vote.

The long waited bill passed the people’s house after political parties and International community pressured Federal Parliament to vote for the bill.

Somali political parties welcomed the passage of the bill. The secretary general of Daljir Party Ahmed Mo’alim Fiqi said his party is delighted but said it came too late. “This is good step by the parliament although it came late” Said Fiqi

The Federal parliament also passed today human rights bill drafted  by women and human rights ministry.
