GOOBJOOG NEWS | CAIRO: Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, has arrived in Cairo, Egypt, to participate in the Arab League Summit, where leaders will address the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

In his keynote speech, the Somali leader is expected to strongly reject any plans to displace the Palestinian people and reaffirm Somalia’s solidarity with Gaza.

The summit will also focus on a post-war reconstruction strategy and explore pathways toward a lasting resolution, including the proposed two-state solution.

With discussions set to begin at 3 PM local time, Arab nations will outline their collective stance against US President Donald Trump’s controversial displacement proposal, first announced in February and widely condemned across the region.

This high-stakes gathering comes as tensions escalate following Israel’s decision to reimpose a blockade on Gaza during the second day of Ramadan—an act humanitarian organizations have criticized as “collective punishment.”

The summit’s outcome could shape the region’s response to the crisis and the future of Palestinian statehood.
