Somali PM Meets German Officials to Discuss Bilateral Relations and National Progress

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU – Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, held a meeting at his office with a German delegation led by Minister of State for Economic Cooperation and Development Niels Annen and German Ambassador Sebastian Groth to discuss mutual interests and other key issues between the two nations.

The Prime Minister briefed the delegation on the latest developments in the country, including the severe ongoing drought, progress made in the fight against Al-Shabaab extremist groups, advancement of direct local council elections, completion of the constitutional review process, and the dialogue platform the government has extended to the Future Council.

For his part, Minister Niels Annen thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception and the friendly relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of cooperation based on mutual interests between the two governments.

The Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre also affirmed that the Somali government will play its role in efforts to find solutions for global peace and stability through international forums, particularly the United Nations Security Council, where Somalia currently serves as a non-permanent member.
