Somali Police Chief Calls for Stronger Security Collaboration to Enhance Justice and National Safety

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali Police Force Commander Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi has called on security officers to strengthen cooperation and establish a robust information-sharing system to enhance national security and improve criminal investigations.
The Police Chief made the remarks on Thursday while chairing a high-level security meeting in Mogadishu, where top security officials gathered to discuss advancing the justice system and modernizing investigative processes.
Brigadier General Abdullahi emphasized the urgency of eliminating barriers that hinder law enforcement efforts, urging closer collaboration between security agencies and local communities.
“Security is a shared responsibility. Strengthening our coordination and ensuring seamless information exchange will enable us to respond effectively to crime and uphold justice,” he stated.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including Deputy Commander Brigadier General Osman Abdullahi Mohamed, senior officers from the Banadir Regional Police, the Criminal Investigation Directorate, and chiefs of investigation departments.
Discussions focused on streamlining criminal investigations, protecting human rights, and ensuring justice delivery.
Participants also highlighted the need for improving victim reception procedures, expanding public services, and reinforcing the rule of law, critical steps in rebuilding public trust in Somalia’s justice system.
The directives from the Police Chief signal a renewed commitment by the Somali Police Force to modernize investigative processes and create a safer environment for citizens.
The meeting concluded with a consensus on implementing new measures to enhance investigative efficiency, ensuring that law enforcement remains responsive to the public’s needs while upholding the highest standards of justice and human rights.
