Somali police commander orders the arrest of a police man who murdered a citizen in Mogadishu
Police commissioner General Abdihakiin Dahir Sa’id has ordered the arrest of a former police officer who is alleged to have killed a suspect around Hiliwaa police station in Mogadishu.
Commissioner Sai’d issued a decree which has been circulated to all head of police stations in Banadir region stating the arrest of the police officer who escaped from the scene and is believed to be armed. The official document also contains a condolence message to the bereaved family.
Speaking to the media, police spokesperson Kassim Ahmed Rooble described the incident. “I am hereby briefing the media on the deceased Abshirey Abdullahi Ahmed who was killed outside Hiliwaa police station on 21st October 2017 at 3pm by ex-Sergeant Yusuf Mohamud Mohamed, a former police officer attached to the police station. The culprit escaped after firing at police officers who wanted to arrest him.”
“The suspect has to be arrested wherever he maybe” added police spokesperson Rooble.
