Somali Police Enhance Security Ahead of Ramadan

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somali Police have announced that it has put in place comprehensive measures aimed at enhancing security in Mogadishu and its surrounding areas during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the Somali Police Spokesman Qasim Ahmed Roble added that the Somali National Army was also on standby to supplement the police efforts in maintaining peace in the country, during Ramadan which commences in the coming week.

The National Security Forces have continued to enhance their operations targeting the Al-Shabaab militants in various parts of the country – which has seen the arrest of several suspects with security forces calling on members of public to support the government forces’ efforts to enhance security.

Roble said that the collective efforts of both authorities and citizens play a central role in maintaining peace and stability in Mogadishu and its environs urging the public to remain vigilant during Ramadan and reaffirmed the police force’s  dedication to combating terrorism and fostering a peaceful environment for residents to observe Ramadan.
