Somali Police Force (SPF) delivers 11 vehicles to Galmudug Police

Handing over ceremony of 11 vehicles from the Somali Police Force (SPF) to Galmudug police was held on Monday in Adado town of Galmudug State.

The handover ceremony was attended by Mohamed Hashi Abdi, Mudug governor, Abdi Hussein Sheikh, the Chief Commander of the Somali Police, AU officials and officials from the United Nations.

Galmudug State deputy president thanked the Somali Police Force for the donation and said it would help the Galmudug Force improve law and order in the region..

“We really appreciate how the government of  every now and then helps the Somali government on different sectors, and now it’s vehicles and soon we are expecting them to donate us police uniform and other police equipments” said Mudug region.

It is possible that the newly delivered vehicles will be utilised by the Interim Galmudug Administration police.

The Federal Government recently signed an agreement with the Interim Jubba Administration on the establishment of regional police in their respective regions, with the United Nations and African Union to provide technical advice and monitor the recruiting, vetting, training and deployment of 600 officers for each region.
