GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somali Police bomb disposal Wednesday safely detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that is suspected to have been planted by Al-shabaab militants at Hamarweyne market in Mogadishu.
Banadir Regional Police Command said in a statement that there was no casualties as the security forces first cordoned the area from members of the public before detonating the device.
“This morning, 10 Jan 2024, at around 12:20 AM, the Al-shabaab militants secretly planted explosives at the Gas Station in Hamarweyne District. Security forces cordoned the area, keeping members of the public safe before safely detonating the device around 01:00 PM,” the statement reads.
